Merry Christmas!
Just wanted to send a short note to wish you all the best of the day.
While many of us are, have been or will be, with family please remember those who find this season more difficult. Not everyone finds the same joy of the season, for many different reasons. Please keep those folks in your minds, hearts and prayers today.
Christmas day is a time to express gratitude for the gift of the Christ child. God gave us a wonderful gift of God-with-us that first Christmas. The tiny child we celebrate is a reminder that God is with us, sometimes in the most unexpected ways.
While this is the second Christmas with my grandson, it is the first where he is old enough to take in the joy and excitement. Watching his face as he unwraps his gifts will be the highlight of the day. Or maybe it will be the chance to get down on the floor and join him as he plays with those gifts. The time with family is precious, whatever their age. This year the joy on my son’s face will come from the joy on his son’s face.
Christmas is about the joy a son brought to all the world. May that joy enter your lives today, whatever your circumstances. God is with you, you are not alone.
Today, let God be in your midst. Remember the reason for the season. May Christ be central to your Christmas today.
Christmas blessings,
Rev. Mary-Jane
